Unfortunately this picture is not our own. We`re behind in uploading pictures and the Eiffel Tower tour won`t be until later this week when my friend Tina arrives in Paris.
The overnight train from Barcelona to Paris was really cool. The sleeping compartment was tiny (we got a two bunk one) but the experience was pretty exciting. We ate dinner in the dining car and drank in the bar then went to sleep and by the time we woke up we were just outside Paris. We had breakfast in the dining car as well, which was accompanied by a side of cyanide...I mean by the French countryside.
Once we arrived in Paris we walked to the wonderful apartment we get to stay at for free thanks to Kristin and Claude (who just got married so congrats to them!) and then fell asleep for a few hours from the complete exhaustion Barcelona and traveling bestowed on us. However, we did walk down to the Bastille, or rather where the Bastille formerly stood, to see the statute that now stands in its place. More recently we tried out some Absinthe at La Fee Verte (The Green Fairy) which is Kristin and Claude`s go-to bar/cafe across the street from their apartment. Then we headed down the street to Rue de Lappe, which is apparently the place to be seen in Paris. I looked pretty good so it was a good night for that. I think we`ll go again when Tina arrives.
Tomorrow (technically today...it said 00:58 on the clock when I started writing this) we`re going to Versailles in the morning then checking out the Catacombs and the Latin Quarter.
So far the French are a little friendlier than the Catalonians. I refrain from judging the Spaniards based on my experience in Barcelona given their fierce demand that Catalonia is not Spain. Of course, perhaps the French are friendlier because Matt has been the one dealing with people here and he generally seems to elicit friendlier responses than I do. I pretend it`s jealousy that denies me friendly reactions, but it may be my superiority complex that puts people off. No, definitely jealousy.

Einstein ...no, it's your obvious humility that has the French completely flummoxed.
