Arrived safelty in BUSY phuket. Stayed right in the centre in our first hostel...but only us 2 in the room so doesnt really count i suppose. $3.50 a night in pounds so cant complain. Had subway lunch and headed to the beach. Nice beach but more like bust part of spain with watersports umbrellas etc. The evening was interesting...the main road sort of comes alive with lady boys, old men looking for young thai girls bit scary!! we were totally out of place! Eventually found a normal looking bar with a live band playing and chatted to 2 ozzies guys who wanted saving from any potentail ladyboys!! Went to banana club after which had good tunes for a dance apart from YMCA at the end....what is the world coming too.

On the 17th was bad weather so drank lots of ice coffee, went in internet and early night..but couldnt sleep cause the noise was unbelievable still going at 7am when we left. Wouldnt recommended Phuket really bit sleazy and beach not nearly as nice as the smaller places. An experience though nevertheless!!
