I know that is new york but there is no pic of vegas either!! hehe
Anyway, arrived in Vegas in the daylight, its actually a lot smaller than you imagine, but the hotels are definately something else! Drove right though the main strip and our guide pointed out the big hotels, the wedding chapels etc! We then checked into our hotel. Me and Carman then took time to have a bit of an explore. Went for a drink in the MGM Grand and saw the lions in the cages. Then looked around Caesers Palace hotel and all its shops. Bought some Guess jeans as they are so much cheaper in the Us, how unfair! The looked round the Paris hotel, which has a huge replica of the Effiel tower outside. Then onto the Mirage and saw the volcano and the fountains, unfortunately it wasnt 'erupting' cause it was too windy! Then we wandered around the Vientien, which looks just like venice inside it even has a canal running through it with gondalas! Very random. Like nothing ive ever seen. Finally we toured the caisinos of the Belagio and the New York hotels.
These places are massive its unbelievable!!
In the evening we all as a group had a 2 hour stretch huma ride around Vegas! I have to say from the last half hour my memory goes slightly hazy!! Was loads a fun though. went to a wedding chapel and the Vegas sign, and ended up at the Belagio, where me and Mario proceeded to play roulette and drink jagerbombs till the sun came up!! Thought id lost my credit card at one point and lost Mario!! The casinos all look the same!!
The next morning after about 30mins sleep we headed off, me and Mario giggling so certainly still intoxicated. Stopped off for food in the supermarket and then it was onto one of the hottest deserts on the planet, Death Valley, where temperatures rise to record-breaking levels. Traversing the Eastern Sierra, we then made our way towards Lee Vining located near the shores of Mono Lake. This lake is unique with its strange tufa rock formations which rise out of its waters. In the evening we camped in the middle of nowhere, luckily the site owners let me a sleeping bag but it was still -5 and FREEZING, i am never camping again....
Thursday we drove over the Tioga Pass into the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We reach Yosemite National Park with its awe-inspiring granite cliffs and majestic waterfalls. First of all we did an hour walk to famous trees which are big and red! So bloody high you cant fit one in a picture unless you stand miles away! Saw the oldest one in the park called 'grizzly bear' was something like 2800 years old i think. We then drove to a viewpoint of the granite cliff and then onto the Yosemite Falls. Was a beautiful place, still snow in places which i think made it even prettier. In the evening we stayed at a cool lodge nearby.
