Employability
Current mood: thirsty
OK. Got to Portugal OK. Just to reiterate after the last trip... I HATE AIRPORTS. I also have a great dislike for trains that, whilst having the ability to rocket along, do not and decide to cruise at less than 30mph causing a 60 mile journey to last 2 hours.
Whinging aside for a moment so far although not plentiful employment doesnt seem particularly hard to come by. Unfortunatly I have tried Lagos' two dive shops and they are if anything overstaffed. Infact one is currently a building site so it is something of a miracle that I was able to talk to anyone but a sweaty overweigh portugese man with a dislike for tourists let alone the manager. I have made the decision to flyer for Whytes whilst searching for bar work decentish pay, free drinks etc. not astounding but ok. I am staying at the Rising c*** on a camp bed (again) but i don't care because its cheap, cheap like a budgie also everywhere in town is full so that restricts my options somewhat.
The next stage is to try and find someone to lodge with which I think I may have done. A fellow who works in one of the bars tipped me off (there is an intricate social network in this town) as to the whereabouts of a man looking for lodgers. I also met two other guys who showed me to Nicks workplace. These turned out to be my new room mates. 3 to a small room (I don't care Its like a budgie!) he was going to charge them 10 euros each a night so we are going to ask for 7 when I move in. 7, 7 euros! How cheap is that! I actually stand to make money with the job but I have to push to make it work out.
Of course its hot and also I've been listening to the MC Lyte version of Jammin' on repeat of late. You should get it because if you don't you're uncool.
Will i get the job?
Do i have what it takes to flyer?
Is the accomodation going to fall down with me in it?
Tune in another day to find out in the next entralling blog from PORTUBEN!!!
Much love guys
