We almost did make it here - when we tried to pick up our hire car, none of our bank cards worked!! We were potentially stuck at Chicago airport with nowhere to stay if we could get the car and no way of paying for anything anyway!
The reason - Natiowide had sent us new cards (to our home address, of course) and cancelled our current ones. After a frantic phonecall, they said they could re-activate our cards but it would take several days. Thankfully, Ali was able to increase his credit card limit - and that worked instantly!!
Were we stressed?! Of course not......well maybe a little!
Anyway, we made it to Cedar Point and the following day spent a long and hot day waiting in queues to try our some of the fastest roller coasters in the world (well some of them were a few years ago)!
The highlight was definately the Top Thrill Dragster - you are 'launched' to 120 mph then you climb 420 ft in the air, only to come straight back down again! And all you have to keep you in is a lapbar!!
