Benny and Loz Do Canada
Super exciting news of the day - we finally have ourselves a motorhome or RV as they say over here! Yay! We had just about given up on finding a motorhome & had decided to go with a smaller van with camper setup inside. Then this morning just as we're about to go out, we checked the classifieds one last time & up popped an ad that seemed too good to be true - everything we were looking for & only posted an hour ago. So we emailed to see if we could have a look and went off to have a look at another van that we didn't really want, but thought we should check it out as a backup plan. We were out having lunch when the RV seller (Ed) emailed us back with his phone number saying that we were welcome to come & have a look but that he also had 2 other people looking today. So we were thinking we had no chance - it was in really good condition, well looked after, a newer model than what we'd previously looked at, great price & the ad was only posted today & he already had 2 people already coming out to look at it. We rang Ed anyway to see when we could take a look - he said come out now if you like. So home we went to grab some cash just in case, sussed out directions & jumped on the train. The whole 30min skytrain trip we were both so excited & nervous that it would sell before we could see it... When we arrived it was so worth the trip. The motorhome is exactly what we're looking for. It's a 21ft class C 1988 Tioga Arrow Chevy van - don't ask me the technical stuff, that's Ben's domain. It's got the overcab bed, dining/seating area, stove, oven, sink, fridge/freezer, shower, toilet and lounge = so perfect!! When we arrived we had to wait for another couple to finish viewing it before we could go in, but when we did we were both sold. Ed was so friendly and genuine & answered all our questions. Obviously it's 25yrs old so its not perfect, but it's been kept in such good shape and it runs really well - we did a quick little lap down the street & round the cul-de-sac. It's mechanically reliable and super tidy inside which is what we want for our roadtrip. Soo we made an offer, Ed accepted it and now we own a motorhome. Am I getting old because I am ridiculously excited about this? I only have the one pic for the moment - will post more when we pick it up, probably Saturday! :) Anyone wondering where we got the name Toby from - the name was long decided before we even found a motorhome. Bit of a joke between Ben & I - we saw the Rams ad below ages ago and both of us cracked up and said - Yep if we get a van or motorhome we are so calling it Toby. Then every time we get in & start it we can say "Toby, lets ride!" Haha bit of our warped humour, but it makes us laugh - and so Toby was born :) Link to YouTube: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EJv2Goqyti U
