We were up early today and for the first time saw blue sky and sun. This was the day to travel up to Christ the Redeemer. After a quick breakfast we walked in to town and got the bus, then got the tram that takes us to the top of a 700m hill, where Christ stands on top of. The view was amazing, as you can see the whole of Rio far down below with the sculpted Chirst overlooking everything. We took in the views and made some photos just before the clouds moved in and the view was lost, even Christ began to disappear! We then got the bus back and found a nice place for lunch, before making the most of the sun reappearing in the afternoon (even though it was only short lived) by walking along Copacobana beach, watching the body boarders and surfers and even seeing a tranny! On the way back we met some people from our hostel and stopped for a beer in the fevelas and watched the world go by... A good day.
