Hi again everybody.
Finally, we have got some hours to sit down and go to internet. So what do we do then....update our travelblog of course :o)
Last time, we where in Nha Trang, the best place so far in Vietnam :) Jon's scuba-diving with "Scuba Dive" and my snorkelling was fantastic. From there we went to Hoi An, the old city with a lot of silk shops. Got 1 skirt, 3 dresses and one of them with a matching jacket, all in silk, for about 800.- NOK. And they all look really good. This city is together with Nha Trang the best places we have been to in Vietnam. We loved the atmosphere there: small alleys, lot's of cafes, restaurants and souvenirs shops. Every girls MEKKA :o)
After Hoi An, we travelled to Hue. To be honest, we could have skipped this place, and just travelled on to Halong Bay. Halong Bay was amazing, and we truelly understand why it is on the Unesco's World heritage List. The area has 1996 small islands popping up of the see all over. We went out there with a really old indochina boat, and stopped to visit a cave where we could go in and have a look. The place was great. After this we went to the island Cat Ba, where we had one night. The next morning, we went on a jungel trecking, and "climbed" our way up to a mountain top. The view was AWESOME, so it was really worth the work. On the top, some of us climbed up the " Death Tower" and from there we could see all over the island, great ! We named it the "Death Tower" because it had lost some stairs, and all the bolts where rotten from rusting. Just lucky we survived the climb ;o)
Now we are back in Hanoi, and yesterday we had our farewell dinner with the group-leader and the once that are heading back home (snif) :o( Tonight we're meeting the new group-leader for Laos, and 3 or 4 new participants. On thuesday morning we're heading for Laos.
To sum it up, Vietnam is NOISY !!!! They really don't have or use traffic regulations. They're driving in the wrong directions, don't mind if it's a red light, just use the HORN ALL THE FUC.... TIME, and just drive into you if you're in the way. People points and laugh at you, and doesn't look that interested in getting the tourists back.... BUT, when this is said, we loved the food :) the people that were polite and helpful, and the landscape is "AMAZING" ;)
Going to Laos, we don't know when our next internet possibility is. Hope all are doing great, and hope to hear from you all :)
