Today we stopped in a city called Kusadasi in Turkey. The town is on the beach and it is a place where many people in Turkey go for their summer holidays. It is very beautiful. From eh beach we went on a bus trip to a place called Ephesus. First we went to the house where "Mary, Mother of Jesus" spent her last days. It was small but very peaceful up on top of the mountain. We collected some "Holy Water" in little clay urns from her well.

Next we went to the Ancient City of Ephesus. It was amazing with lots and lots of Ancient Statues and buildings. We went to a huge Ampitheatre and we were able to see the doors and tunnels around it where the Gladiators and animals once came in.

We also saw an ancient burial ground with stone tombs. The bodies were gone and the kids of the tombs were all ruined. Dad decided to get in one and pretend he was a mummy!

We also went to a carpet shop in town where I got to see a lady making a carpet. It looks like it would take a very long time. The men in the carpet store were funny and showed us lots of carpets and gave us drinks and chocolates. This was my favourite place of the day.
