Day 9, Distillery tours today, Glenfarclas and Glenfiddich, plus the Speyside Cooperage. Glenfarclas was great value at 7.5 pound and a traveller for David as he was driving. After the tour we chatted to one of the guides who spends 3 months in Australia each year with his daughter, he also gave us a taste of the 21yo and the special edition 105 cask at 60% alcohol. Glenfiddich was also good, but at 25 pound each and 5 drams was a bit overrated. Glenfarclas allowed photos in all areas whereas Glenfiddich did not allow in all areas. After a few drams we visited the ruins of Balvenie castle. Ended the day with stop to a local pub for a couple more drams and quick snack before back to accommodation for dinner and packing before departure to the Isle of Skye.
