Hello Everyone!!
Its Leigh here so my blog wont be as impressive as rebeccas have been, but she has a headache at the moment and didnt want to come down to the net cafe.
We had a great time at Zanzibar just relaxing on the white sand beaches. We did go on a dolphin tour which was amazing, we were supposed to head out at 10am but we were talking to the owner of the resort and she told us to leave at 6am as the dolphins tend to go to deeper seas as the water heats up from the sun. So we booked to leave at 6am the following day. At 6.10 am we have had a very disturbing knock on the door, it then occured to us that, yes. we had slept in. So we quickly got ready and headed out the door. We were only 15 mins late but that didnt stop us from seeing aliot of dolphins!!
Straight after we had left on our boat to head out we saw a bunch about 15 together! We were able to go swimming with them and we got sooo close that they would have been less then half a meter away. It really was amazing!! I think the dolphins secretly know that we want to touch them because they would swim just close enough for us not too! And at about 8.30 they had gone into deeper water which was difficult to see.
The last day was again just relaxing before our busy schedual in egypt. We arrived in egypt at about 2.30am on saturday morning. The man who met us at the airport was very friendly and had organised our visas and all the tricky parts so we were able to pretty much walk straight out of the airport with no hassels. Which i was extremely gratful for as i had some nasty diahoria on the plane and just wanted to get to the hotel to take some medication. We just had a day of walking round the city (well the tiny part that we did anyways, as there are 20 million people who live in cairo alone... thats the whole of australia in one city) Today we visited the pyamids and sphinx! which we were amazed at the size of these things!! we have some pretty good photos which show the real size as it is hard to tell from some images. After the pyramids we had the afternoon off to do whatever we want (hence my writing to you all!) Oh and i better not forget we had maccas for lunch! AWESOME!!! i had a big mac chicken, which is pretty much a bigmac with the chicken patties! what a great idea! rebecca had, of course, the Quater pounder which was almost the size of her face! maybe not that big but was very big, larger then a whopper at hungry jacks! very yummy! tonight we go out to an egyptian restraunt with the group, which should be good. Oh yes and there is more then 4 of us as we expected, there ended up being 9 in total, at the moment there is 7 but we are meeting the other 2 in luxor. Its a lovely bunch of people comprising of 4 aussies 2 americans living in italy, and a kiwi.
Anyways we are really appreciating all the comments and messages you all type its soo great to hear from you all, so keep it up!!
Well my hour is just about up so id better go!
Lots of love to all of you!
Leigh (and rebecca in spirit!) xoxo
