We arrived in Nah Trang at about 5.30am so were absolutely shattered when they kicked us off the bus. Once again we had been so laid back we had not even looked into were to stay. Luckily Adam had booked into a hostel so we all just went together. We got a taxi as we had no idea where we were. The cheeky man drove us about 3 blocks away and then pretty much back to where we had just come from, he thought we were stupid but we could see where we had gotten off the bus. His loss though as off course I pointed out exactly what he had done and gave him less than a third of what he asked. The hostel is called Backpacker House Hostel. Unffortunatly we couldnt check in till 11am so from about 6am we all had to pile into a tiny little common room to watch films for the next 5 hours. Luckily with my persistance she eventually let me and James check in at about 9.30. All others had to wait. The room was nice, we had tv aircon and mini bar and a huge balcony and a really good free breackfast of eggs, baguettes toast, fruit, cereal, tea/coffee and a bottle of water. Finally it was beach time. We walked along the beach to a seafront bar called Louisianna Brew House. The pool was closed so we had a sunlounger on the beach and stayed there for the rest of the day. At about 4pm we saw a big group off men/woman sat around what looked like buckets but smelt like an amazing BBQ. I walked over and it was buckets of fresh obster, crab, oysters shrimps and all sorts of fresh live seafood. Everyone on the beach was queing up as you chose what you wanted and the either barbaqued or boiled it. It was unbelievable how cheap it was, 100,000 dong for fresh live lobster (in a restaurant abut 900,000). We didnt try any but i think we may go back one night to try some. As we walked down the beach we saw a whole bunch of locals wearing lifejackets all cheering. In the sea ws a huge blowup assult course in which they were doing some relay or challange. It was like watching Takeshas Castle. When we got back from the beach we got ready and met Adam and went to Why Not Bar for tea. The food was really cheap and you got free wine, free shots and a free cocktail. (I dont quite think they thought this through when they did the flyer as pretty much all the drinks came free for some promotion or other) We came back to the hostel as one of the busiest bars called Red Apple is attached to the hostel. We had a few games of pool and then met Roy and Nat and a girl from canada. After a few more drinks in there we went back down to the Why not bar for the rest of the night as it got busier later. We had another lazy day on the beach today followed by an earlynight watching films. Although this may sound boring to some, the fact that we have a tv with good films its so nice to chil out sometimes, and also to save money. Saturday we went to Vinpearl. Vinpearl is a small island just across from Nah Trang. To get to it you go accross what is meant to be the worlds longest cable car and as you go accross the island has like the Hollywood sign but Vinpearl obviously. On the island there is a waterpark, small themepark, arcades, magic shows, dolphin shows, tobogan run from the top of the mountain, a fountain show (like at the Bellagio in Vegas) a shopping area and a gorgeous beach. When we arrived we went on a few of the rides and into the arcades where all the games are free. We stoppped for lunch and then went into underwater world, a big aquarium which was really good. There was the biggest stingray I have ever seen. We headed over to the waterpark and spent the rest of the afternoon on the slides. James loved it, he was like a little kid on christmas. We did go on one slide together but i stupidly leant forward as we reached the bottom and lets say I got a free colonic irrigation off that ride. I decided I had had enough slides after this point so went and laid on the beach while James stayed on the slides. It got to about 5pm so we got changed and got big corn dogs and popcorn and went back to the arcades for an hour. As we came out there was a mgic show on, I was expecting this really old vietnamese guy to be rubbish but he litterally pulled out about 5 birds and a rabbit from nowhere. We went over to see the fountain show at 7pm which we have to say was really impressive. We didnt stay for the whole thing as we knew the que for the cable car back would take forever so we rushed to beat the que. At night it looks amazing each tower holding the cables up was lit up to look like the eiffel tower. We were bopth shattered but soon got convinced into going out so after a quick pitstop for food and shower we were down in the bar. In the end I ended up behind the bar in Why not bar showing them how to make cocktails with teh guy then begging me and James to stay and work for a week. It did sound a tempting offer but we've both done our stint of PR'ing. Obviously it ended up a drunken night as I got to drink the cocktails I made fro free so it was a bonus. Sunday is called gods day of rest for a reason and although neither of us are religious we decided we'd take up the chance to be lazy. I did not move out of bed till about 6pm (James went to the beach for an hour) we got dressed and went for another curry. Thsi one was just like home and so tasty. We had chicken tikka masala, chicken korma and rice and garlic naan to share. We demolished it in a matter on minutes before going straight back to the room. We had seen the film Arthur advertised all week so couldnt wait to see it. Such a good film aswell topped off with peanut butter oreos.
After our day of laziness we were up bright and early to sort our bus out to go to Ho Chi Minh and then booked a bus to go to the mud baths. The mud baths were abour 7km out side of Nah Trang. When we arrived it was a nice suprise, not what we had expected. We were directed up to a big open shower first and then down to our own private mud bath for 2. The whole area was various sized mud baths on differetn levels all covered with straw parasols. We were as happy as pigs in s*** (well thats what we looked like anyway (sorry for swearing) After half an hour soaking away we went to another area were we sunbathed whilst the mud dried. Then was tha mammouth task of washing all the mud off, it took ages. From here we had mineral showers that felt like razor blades coming our of the wall and then finally a big mineral bath. At first it was so relxing but it soon got too hot. We thought the mineral swimming pools would be better however they were also 37 degrees. We gave up in the end being too hot and went back to the beach. Another lazt night as were up early for our bus to Ho Chi Minh.

Grandma & Grandad Glad youv'e not been taken for a ride (by the cheeky taxi driver). Just be careful he may have had some big brothers or other heavies! Don't get involved in anything that may involve the authorities, their prisons can be pretty grim. NA trang sounds more like Las Vegas than Cambodia but it sounds as though you are both having a great relaxing time. Lots of love Grandma & Grandad xxxx
