So today was the start of our golden triangle tour, we had to be up at 7am for a 6 hour car journey to Jaipur in Rajastan. We had been told, and both breifly seen clips of the crazy eratic driving in india but little did we no we'd be in for the thrill seekers ride of a lifetime. No matter how many picutes we upload or what way we can tell peopl no words can describe the driving over here, James hi light of the day was a tuk tuk made to fit about 2 -3 people carryimg at least 20 people which has had him laughing ever since. So how can we give you an idea.....imagine a road as big and as busy as the M62, cars just decided which lane to go in if there is space for them to fit, people just casusally stroll down the middle while some choose more up to date transport such as a camal or a cow trucks and busses are just filled with people even sitting on the roof. They overtake like no ones business and literally we were holding on to our seats the whole way through even wen we were driving up the wrong side of the road, Sanjay our keeps laughing at us screeching in the back seeat. If it wasnt so funny it would actually be quite scary.
So after a 6 hour journey of pure amazement at the sights if India we arrived at our next hotel the Rajastan Palace, the name is quite decieving hoever it was really nice compared to smyle inn. It had HUGE bed, quite aricon and was in a lovely garden that was all lit up at night. The food was really pricey (well ok not pricey but more than a pound) so that night Sanjay took us to a tiny little restuarant which was half the price. Still not into the food yet we are really suprised becase there are hardly any places to eat poor james is wasting away by the minute.
Anyway when we arrived we went to the monkey temple which was righ in the hills and funniliy enough surrounded by monekys there were hundreds it was such an amazing place. It was so hot so we didnt get quite to the top but we saw everything.
One thing I keep fprgetting to mention is the attention we get off everyone it is so funny we feel like tge Beckhams people stopping to take photos and saying hello and even shaking our hands.
Day 2 in Jaipur was a 8am wake up call with the first stop being a tour round the pink city and to see the hamuman temple (nothing too exciting) followed by a trip to Amber fort. This was amazing it was like being in Aldadin as we got taken up through the fort on an elephant ride which james just loved. The fort was amazing surorunded by a wall like the great wall of china around the whole city within the fort. After here we went to a few more temples but nothing really compared to what we'd been to that morning... and to be fair there are only so many temples you can see and be excited about. We got back about 2ish and had a lazy afternoon and then got taken to yet ANOTHER temple by Sanjay which we felt obliged to accpet as he was being so nicr to us. That about sums up that day.
So today we were up at 9am to leave for another 5 hour car journey to Rathanbor. This is also part of out trip, were here for one night and WOOHOO there is a pool.
The drive once again didnt fail to entertain with the crazy driving and horn honking however today was a little worse, literally the road would just stop and there would be piles of rubble, broken down cars that had just beem left and i think worst of all the debria from previous car accidents. We saw one today were apparantly the people must of been dead and they just bury them at the side of the road from the crash (mums maybe dont read this bit just yet we dont want you worrying, we have a very safe car and a very good driver) Any way we arrived at our nxt stop called Ankur resort we have spent the afternoon laid by the pool and sorting our next accomodation in preparation for a 6am wake up to go on a safari on the jungle to see the tigers which I am so excited about, got my camouflage pants at the ready!
