ANothe rovernight bus in the bag and my goodness we are doing well with them. AT the start of the trip we would spend countless nights wide awake followed by days of being tired and grumpy. Now however we get on tyhe bus, chill out for a bit and then get a good 8 hours, sleep at ten awake at 8, its perect.
Buenos AIres is not at all what we expected, I had seen little bits of TV but had not realised that one it was a big city or two that it was actuallyl infact the capital.
We are stayin at Hostel Suites Obleisco, its a really nice hostel and perfect location right in the centre.
Unnfortunatly it was raining when we arrived, we did set off for a walk around but neither of us had coats with us so went back and chilled in the hostel with a beer till it stopped.
Day 2
We signed up for the free wlaking tour which wasnt really that great compared to ones we have done in other places, in the end we sacked it off and went our own one. We found a little square int he area of San Telmo. Around the square were loads of nice restuarants and cafes and in the middle poeple were doing tango dancing.
That afternoon we got pretty bored, we on the verge of running our of money and gettin a bit fed up now.
We were meant to be doing the tango show the following day but instead as it was raining we did it that night.
I thought it would be one of those trips that I really enjoyed and JAmes wasnt too keen on but we both loved it. IT was called Sabor A Tango. We got picked up form the Hostel and taken to the venue. We couldnt belive it when we got there it was so posh and here we were ion flip flops and t shirts. The men had shuits on and woman all dressed up in heels and fancy dresses. OH Well.
First part was an hour tango lesson, it was great and so much fun and we both did really good, def one for our first dance when we get married haha.
Next part wasa 3 course meal in a gorgeous hall with the stage at the end. It was so fancy all candle lit. The menu was 5 different choices so you had a starter, main and desert. Heaven we both had steak or course. The best part was the wine, the second your glass was half full someone would be over your shoudler topping you up! THe meal took ages as peopl were seated at different times but we loved it, so nice to sit and enjoy a decent meal. The night was finished with a tango show that was really good and hilarious in parts. Overall we had such a great evening.
The next 2 days we have not done too much, walking around the city and due to lack on money sat a drank in the hostel everynight.
Yesterday we went to Cemetry recolecta, the cemetry were Evita is buried. It was so wierd, it like a city of graves. Not like you think thoughm, there like houses and temples in which whole families coffins are. The odd bit was that you could see and touch the coffins in most there not buried just all on shelves. BIt freaky knowing there are dead bodies just inches away from you.
Wel thats pretty much, sure you c an tell from reading htis were gettin abit bored now, fed up of the food here and having no money, we still ove the traveliing but as we count down the days till we leave for home were starting to get more and more excited.
Another overnight bus tonight to Iguazu!
