Becky Bravo's Adventures
Ok, well, I know that I said I probably wouldn't do a blog until Hawaii, but one of my friends on the ship here had an excess of internet minutes and was kind enough to let me use some. So this blog comes to you courtesy of K-Lee Bowman. I just wanted to let you in on what has been up since we left Japan. It has been a long stretch at sea. I have been working my butt off on papers, I actually still have two more to do tonight (they are short, thank goodness) and I have to study for the final in Global Studies which is tomorrow as well. I also have to get songs together for our last worship service tomorrow, but that should be pretty low key, plus I enjoy doing that a lot more than papers. Anyways. Last night was the Ambassador's Ball. Everybody got dressed up, and we had a wonderful dinner, and awesome desserts. There was dancing, and we got champagne to do a toast and it was just so much fun. So I included some fun pictures from last night of us all dressed up. The camera guy who is doing the DVD wanted to film people get ready for the ball, and somehow found out there would be a bunch of people in my group getting ready together, so he filmed us getting ready. It was supposed to be candid and we were to act like he wasn't there, which was hard. But it was fun. Then he filmed us walking up to the dining hall and everything. So I will be on that DVD quite a bit. They showed another preview of it for the portion of India, and that Saree story that I told you about was on there. It was pretty sweet. I also got to film the interview portion of my DVD because I ordered a personalized one (thanks to my parents). I had my friends come on and say some stuff and then I said a few words. The ship's doctor was out working out while I did it, and he and the camera guy said that what I said was awesome. I have a surprise on there for you, Mom and Dad, but you will have to wait til August to see what I said. You will love it though. Also, today, the Archbishop was kind enough to sign autographs again and take pictures, so there is a pic of me and him. I did not drop anything on him this time, so that was a plus. Today was the last class of Global Studies and we had student speakers just say some stuff about the voyage, and I am not going to lie, I was tearing up big time. I just realized this morning how emotional I will be when we arrive in San Diego. I will be crying out of excitement to see my parents, I will be crying because it's over, I will be crying because I am going to miss my friends. I mean I have pretty much spent every waking minute with the same people, and it will be odd to not be around them anymore. I just know it will be emotional, but I am so excited. I am so excited that on Monday we will be in Hawaii! I am seriously contemplating finding a movie theater and watching the third installment of the Spiderman trilogy, but I only have less than a day there, and will probably spend it on the beach and on my cell phone. I can't wait to call everybody!! Well, it is 2:30 in the morning, and I still have a long night ahead of me, so I should get going. This is my last all-nighter though so yay! And holy cow, I will be home in 9 days.
