Becky Bravo's Adventures
I am back in the United States!! Today was our one and only day in Hawaii. I could have stayed here much, much longer, but I am very excited that we are almost home. Unfortunately, my day didn't start out too well. I had to go up to get my passport and wait in this line, and I felt really dizzy and I was shaking, and felt really weak. I just figured I was hungry, but breakfast ended early, so all I had was some orange juice. That made me feel a little better, unfortunately I couldn't hold it down and got sick. (So FYI, that is why in some of the pics I posted I don't look as happy as usual. I was having a great time though!) I was like great, I am not going to spend the day sick on ship, so I went out anyways. To start, we all went to Wal-Mart to stock up on snacks for the trip home. I stocked up on Sweetarts, because although my awesome mother sent me like 12 packs in China, they only lasted me about halfway through Japan. Then we went back to the ship to drop our stuff off, and headed off to the beach. I started to feel a little better throughout the day, but still not well. Me, Ally, Ellie, Hayley and K-Lee all went to Waikiki Beach and just swam and laid in the sun. Swimming was starting to make me feel weak, so I took a nap in the sun. (and did not get burned by the way!) The nap made me feel good, but the sun made me feel even weaker. And other than some crackers, I hadn't had really anything to eat all day because I thought I would get sick again. My friend Alex found us on the beach, so me him and Hayley went to the International Market, bought a few souvenirs, ate some food and headed back to the beach. I really didn't feel like going in the water or laying in the sun anymore, so Alex said he would go back with me to the ship and then to the movies to see Spiderman 3. I was contemplating seeing that while we were in Hawaii, but at first I was like, I don't want to waste the day in the theater, it's Hawaii, I should be outside enjoying the day. But I have been talking about seeing this movie pretty much since the 2nd Spidey movie came out, and seeing all the hype about Spiderman at Universal in Osaka was just kind of a tease. So, in a way I was kinda glad that I didn't feel very well, because it gave me an excuse to be inside instead of on the beach. So we saw it, and I don't care what anybody says about it, I absolutely loved it. I am kind of in love with Spiderman though, so I'm not sure there was a way for me to be disappointed, but I thought it was amazing. I laughed, I cried, I jumped out of my seat. Money well spent in my opinion. After the movie, we had to head back to the ship. I was sad to board it not only because I didn't want to leave Hawaii, but because it would be the last time I actually board the ship. My mom sent me my cell phone, so after the movies, I spent over 2 hours on my cell phone and it was awesome to talk on it again. I felt kinda bad because for all the people I called it was like 3 or 4 in the morning, but at least I got to talk to them. I talked to Tim for almost 2 hours and that was very nice. I hated always having to rush our conversations and worry about calling card minutes. Then I called my best friend Christiana, who I haven't talked to since February when I left. It was great to hear her voice. Then of course I called my parents, I only got to talk to my mom (and I did say hello to Sammy, of course) because my dad was sleeping. But we talked for about a half hour. My parents are coming to San Diego to pick me up, and we are going to spend the day there and later in the evening family members can get back onto the ship for a reception thing, so they want to do that. I won't be home til pretty late Monday evening, but we will miss rush hour so it will be all good. And, I have my cell phone now, so starting Monday, all you crazy people can start calling or texting me all you want! I feel the upcoming days are going to go by pretty fast. Not much exciting is happening - just finals and packing and debriefing, etc. There is one more talent show, and I was going to sing and play guitar again, but my friend Ashley that always goes to my kickboxing class is putting together a hip/hop dance and asked if I wanted to be in it, so I think I will do that instead. I am sure I will have pics and stories from that as well, although I probably won't post again until I get back home, because there is really no point to buy anymore internet minutes. Again, I just want to thank everybody for keeping up with me and my blogging. I can't wait to see all of you, and that will be in less than a week!
