Blog 13 - Mui Ne
Firstly, we apologise that we have not updated the blog for nearly 4 weeks, once we reached Thailand and the beaches, the blog took a back seat for a while but Fay and Easton are putting us to shame so we decided to get it back up to date starting with Mui Ne.
Mui Ne is on the south East coast of Viet Nam and is a small beach town. After the craziness of Ho Chi Minh City, we decide to find the nearest beach (even though we have just come from the beach in Cambodia).
We had provisionally booked somewhere to stay but the bus dropped us off in the middle of the street and the taxi driver had no idea where the hotel was. Fortunately for us, we were outside a wonderful guest house on the beach - see the photos for how beautiful this hotel is and it was considerably cheaper than the place we had booked.
The guest house was run by an Australian guy and his Vietnamese wife. The whole place had been renovated. We mentioned to him that he couldn't find him on trip advisor and he offered to upgrade our room if we could help him with trip advisor. Obviously we said yes so as I started to write this blog, we were in a beautiful room approximately 20 meters from the sea with our own sun terrace.
There really was not much to do in this town other than relax or learn to windsurf. The beach is really busy with kites and windsurfers. There are some wonderful restaurants. We hired a mo-ped to go and explore the sand dunes however they were a little disappointing. It was nice to kick back and relax.
We headed back to HCMC to pick up or Visa from the Thai Embassy and catch a flight to Bangkok.
