Our very relaxing 11 days on koh lanta are over and we are now back to bankok and its insanity, we just met an elephant in the street opposite ours whilst walking back from dinner. it was obviously on its way to dinner as was very hungry so we fed it a little.
very little to report from the island. i spent most days by the pool with breaks to drive around exploring for lovely spots to have lunch and dinner. and when it rained i occupied myself with one of johns 500 or so dvd's he has in the house. the rain turned out to not be too bad a thing, a) it was refreshing and b) the clouds made for some amazing sunsets which i will bore u all with when i get my photos on here.
some of my favourite spots for food breaks were the little french bakery johns friend runs, with it menu chalked on to the big painted black wooden beams. also a place called catfish which was a bookshop out front and a cafe out the back on the pier part of the building over the water, it had 4 pampered cats in the shop part (hence the name) who were most of the time asleep in the bookshelves on the tables amongst the card stands or on the desk guarding the money i assume! i also had a quite nice dinner at a place right on the beach, but that was made amazing as i went early to see the sunset from the table before i ate, beautiful. oh and another place was right at the far end of the island well after all the resorts stop and way up on a hill with incredible views of the sea and lots of tiny islands. was all ideal.
right just a last bit of shopping to get in now and home in a couple of days. will see u all very soon!
