Aaaahhhh.... home sweet home. Well my home away from home at least. Back in sunny Sydney and back to the real world, well at least for a while anyway until I save enough pennies to go again!
So I last wrote in Quorn. Next my adventure took me to Adelaide. An early morning wallaby spot followed by a trek up to the top of Devils Peak certainly set us up for the day and thankfully we spent the rest of the day kicking back on the bus awaiting our arrival in Adelaide and muchos drinking and festivities to mark the end of this section of the tour. New people and a new tour guide would follow, but not before a free day to explore Adelaide.
Glenelg beach and the Central Night Market were among the highlights of Adelaide, a sleeping city that had my name all over it.. wish I could have stayed longer.
So then we meet Jen.. (not so Jolly Jen as I like to call her).. The new tour guide and commence our remaining three days of the tour. First we meet the albino kangeroo community before crossing the border into Victoria. Three states in three days... oh how I get around!!! Another trek in the Grampions National Park to the top of Hollow Mountain to take in the spectacular views before settling for the night at Halls Gap with the millions of wild kangeroos.
The following day we head out for an early morning kangeroo walk before boarding the bus to the Great Ocean Road, stopping at Silverland Falls, Bay of Islands on the Shipwreck Coast, Bay of Martyrs, Peterborough (much like Peterborough in the UK - naff!!!), London Bridge, The 12 (7, 8, 9 ish more like) Apostles, Loch Ard Beach, back to the Apostles for sunset and finally arrived in Port Campbell for the night. Port campbell was cute and I'd love to have stayed a bit longer :-(
Finally day 18... Back to Loch Ard Beach with not so jolly Jen and onwards to Muttonbird Island, Otway Fly Rainforest for a Treetop Walk, Apollo Bay to see the wild Koalas, Torquay for a spot of shopping and onwards to Melbourne.
I've had an amazing 3 days in Melbourne, catching up with friends and getting inspiration for my next adventures.... And now here I am back in Sydney back where I started and finally enjoying some home comforts. Now all that's left to do is to find a job and plan my adventures on the East Coast, Tasmania, Perth, New Zealand and Thailand... Fun times!!! This is most definitely the life!!!
Til next time...xxx
