Sunday 25th March
Day 8
We got up early to see the 12 Apostles in the morning, the weather wasn't the best. We then hurried back to get our caravan and leave before 10.00 am.
We went past Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Yambuk (Wind Turbines) and Glengurnie. The Myora Forest, near Glenburnie is where the Victoria/SA border runs. There are signs that tells you that you are not allowed to take fruit and vegies accross the border. However, it is an honour system with threats of being randomly searched. Honour systems don't work.
We were headed for a free campsite in a town in South Australia called Tantanoola. It is just a clearing of grass, with toilets and a dump point for our toilet cassette. When we got there, there were 4 other caravans there. The council sign said it was a maximum of three nights stay.
It was cold so we turned on our generator, which is quite loud in the late night and early morning. One of the campers asked us to turn it off at 7.00am. A bit too early.
