Friday 30th March
Day 13
Good Friday.
Today we are heading for the Yorke Peninsula. But first we went to a couple of wineries. While we were exiting the Penfolds winery, caravan attached, the bottom of the bike rack bottomed out and the wiring leading to the caravan was squashed. The caravan wouldn't move and we were stuck in the middle of the road. I had to get out and separate the stripped wires. We stopped at a BP and I had to reconnect the separated wiring and tape around them.
We had lunch then took off and Laura started looking for a free camp online. We finally found a $10 camp at Port Julia. It was a dusty old camp site but it suited us because we just wanted to park the caravan for the evening. We met some people on our journeys that have been going around Australia for years. They were at sites that were free, or $10 sites. A lot of them seemed to have no money which was sad. It would be a scary thing being in your sixties or seventies and having to live in a caravan park because you couldn't afford anything else.
Maybe they fell on hard times later in life, or maybe they just didn't plan well enough.
