Ariiiiiight. Hi All, we're back from Caye Caulker onto the mainland but the Carribean vibe is still very much with us.
Doing nothing is pretty much an artform on the 8km stretch of sand poking out the 30C water just out from Belize City. And anywhere where picking between a day bed and hammock is a legitimate decision is just fine by me.
Apart from tourism, the island's other industry is lobster fishing, so we're been forcing that down too. Combine that with the constant onshore breeze to mitigate the heat and we've pretty much found paradise. You've just got to promise not to tell anyone else...
To protect against seeming completely idle, we have been sailing and snorkelling out on the reefs, swimming with sharks, rays and turtles. Plus we walked out to and dived off the end of the jetty for a paddle most days. It's tough y'know.
We're now en route to Guatemala, to climb some Mayan ruins in the jungle and get up into the mountains. From what I gather about the weather in London at the moment, you'll sympathise when I say sometimes the heat just gets a bit much...
We're struggling with uploading photos at the moment - not sure if it's dodgy connections, dodgy computers or what but we'll aim to get them online as soon as poss but bear with us.
