We slept in and had a relaxing morning. Breakfast was at the picnic table on a beautiful, clear morning. No wind was blowing—until we sat down. Then the Wyoming plains tried to blow us into Utah. But we persevered. Sitting down-wind from the food, we found we only needed to open our mouths wide enough, and our breakfast came to us. Very satisfying, and no energy expended.
After leaving Lyman, we stopped for gas at Little America. I remember this place from when I was a kid, travelling by car across country with my parents and brother. It didn’t look like this place, though (at least, not in my memory). I was beginning to question my memory skills until, back on I-80, I saw a sign that said we should visit Little America in Cheyenne. Maybe that’s the one I remember. We’ll find out tomorrow, if we get that far.
Lunchtime started making itself known in my stomach, and I happened to see a sign for a Rest Area 8 miles ahead. We decided to stop there and have lunch. As we approached the Rest Area, I saw a sign that said, “Parking Area” and an arrow indicating the next exit. I pulled in and found what amounted to a wide exit ramp with parallel parking on the right. I figured that Wyoming had strange Rest Areas, but I stopped, pulled over, and we had a very nice lunch that consisted of a sandwich, a glass of juice, and very yummy cookies from Rietta. Twenty minutes later, we pulled back out onto I-80, drove about a half a mile, and saw the Rest Area. It looked very nice. Ours was better. (I have to say that, otherwise people will laugh at me. And you know how sensitive I am.)
I know this stuff is keeping you on the edge of your seat—it’s so interesting.
Stay tuned. There’s more to come.

belinda ok, so who is writing this? Trying to figure out who "I" is. I think you should say, "Bill: blah blah blah blah blah blah" so we (royal we) can figure this out. :)
Shannon that's a funny lookin' bull...
Leigh Ann Oh yes, a lovely rest stop indeed. I'm so glad you have a new travel blog! I thorougly enjoyed reading your last one. :-)
Earle Drive careful. Can't wait to see your smiling face!
Earle I think you got the wrong end...... lol
Rich Horray! I can now post a comment for the first time. Bill must have fixed something, although with my landline connection, I have to wait several minutes to do so. Grrrr....In my memory, Rawlins has to be the windest place on earth, outside of Sussen Bay above SF. There should be are many windmills there to power the city, but they get their power from a nearyby coal fed plant. I feel sorry for the inhabitants.I got the first proofs back from the publisher for my book, Powerless. The editor rewrote my back jacket blurb, which would have been ok had he really read the book, which he obviously didn't because it describes another story. Then they screwed up Pat's front cover picture. On to version 2.
wjmccain Bill is writing all the blurbs. Barbara is in charge of pictures. Divide and conquer...
Marge Looks like you were too late too see fall color on that tree.....better luck with the next one.
Patrick ....wait, you went all the way to Little America and didn't get your free ice cream cone?
Earle I sent you an email with KOA and RV park links to help when you pass thru OH. Hope they help.I'll keep following your blog posts so I have some clue as to where y'all are. Can't wait to see ya. Have fun!
Marge I'm reading and anticipating each new day's report......So what happened on Tuesday? and Wed is almost over. Is it Nebraska yet?
wjmccain Of course we got ice cream cones at Little America. However, they're now 50 cents each and were pretty bad...
