Day 35
After walking in at 630 i thought I would sleep the entire day, however magically I managed to get up by 1. After lazing around for a while longer we decided by 3 it would be time to get up and do something with our day.
Eventually we made it out of the house and decided to go hunting for a new beach. We drove around for a while and after going past a few we spotted one that looked awesome. After struggling to find parking, we walked on to Psarou beach but felt very out of place.
This was the most upperclass beach I had ever been to. People drinking wine on the beach, having massages on their lounge chairs and being waitered on all day long. We managed to find some space on the side of the beach away from the fanciness and spread out our towels with the other cheapskates.
After a long swim and good walk around we realized we would need to eat food at some point. As the restaurants on the beach were way out of our price range we returned to a beach we had seen on our early drive around.
We ate on Platis Gialos beach after being lured in to a restaurant that offered many free extras. After abusing their policy of complimentary bruschetta, we got fantastic mains and free dessert all for less than than 10€.
But that's not all... Once we left their place we could also use their beach chairs for free.
As we had gotten the chairs for free we obviously couldn't leave without using them. And so we kicked back as the sun set and said goodbye to yet another day in Mykonos.
We finally had enough and mad our way home for a bit of down time before going out. Whilst the guys chilled at our place, I went to meet a cousin of mine who I found out only just before leaving, lived in Mykonos.
I met Susan at her Jewelry shop in town and also was introduced to her son Andreas as he was leaving to go out. We chatted for a while and she gave me many tips about the island including avoiding gypsies and where to get free drinks :).
After fetching the boys to go out for dinner, we swung past the store again to get some advice on where to grab some dinner. As we swung past I also had the chance to meet Sues daughter, Natasha, who thought my new beard style (Forced upon me by Zac - can kinda see in picture) was absolutely hilarious. I am now exclusively referred to, by her, as Wolverine.
After a quick dinner at one of the places they recommended, we grabbed some drinks and cruised the bar scene. We went to Mykonos bar, (where the dj every now and then screams Mykonos just because he can) attempted to get into Scandanavia bar (the line was ridiculous) and Veranda (only after offerred free shots which we drank and left straight after).
We walked around for a bit after that but knowing the big night we had and the big one we had coming we headed home, in bed by 3.
