Day 51
Whilst this is the second time writing this blog, as the first attempt didn't save, I will attempt to convey the same amount of enthusiasm as the first time round.
Disneyland, Disneyland, Disneyland! The day has come and gone but I am still so excited just talking about it. Everything was incredible. The place, the people, the rides, the shows, the characters, everything! We arrived there after a good hour train ride and were amazed from the first second. The 2 parks (yes 2) were both absolutely massive and packed with people even before opening at 930. All the staff were dressed up, wearing hilarious costumes and that's not even mentioning the cartoons.
Almost every ride we went on was mind blowing. Sticking to the "thrill rides" (obviously) all the rides we went on were intense. Space Mountain 2, Indiana Jones, Star Tours, Big Thunder Mountain and The Twilight Zone Tower just to name a few. Whilst the lines were pretty bad waiting up to an hour, at other times we exploited (used it more than intended) a system called fast pass which skips majority of the line by setting you a time to go on ride
The shows we went to were also something to remember, going to a car stunt show that taught us all the tricks of the film biz as well as a special effects show including explosions, fire and shaking floors.
What really made it for me was the attention to detail in absolutely every aspect of the park. From the old timey stores along the main street to the talking robots that entertain you in the lines, everything was really well thought out. The icing on the cake of the day was seeing all the giant characters throughout the park. Mickey, Minnie, Daffy, Mr Incredible and Goofy to name a few. Whilst I didn't kick any in the crotch as per the Simpsons it was really fun seeing my childhood faves come to life.
Even though it is Disneyland, after 10 hours, heaps of lines and as corny as this sounds lots of fun, we needed to head home. Absolutely wiped, completely broke and our legs killing us we caught the hour train back and crawled into our place. After a quick bite, I headed up to our room for a bit of a nap. However once my head hit the pillow I knew all hope of me getting up again that night flew straight out the window.
