The next two days were filled with exploring this city as much as we could. In the morning Franny and I decided to book at ticket on a hop on hop off bus that took you all around the city.
Although it was pretty expensive for us poor backpackers, it was so worth it because we got to see EVERYTHING.
The three hour tour took us to see 5th ave, broadway, wall street, times square, battery park, the kardashians apartment, ground zero, soho, greenwitch village, the statue of liberty, southport, little Italy, china town, several movie sets and heaps of famous people houses! We saw everything!
We had a quick stop off at Greenwich village which I now aspire to live in because it was so trendy and then after seeing where Audrey Hepburn used to live we hopped off at central park!
It was just like it looks in all of the movies. Beautiful rolling hills, shady trees, lakes and rivers everywhere. It reminded me a little of Hyde park in Sydney. A place to go to get away from the city. We ventures right into the heart of the park and stopped off to have out very first NY hotdog next to the famous central park skating rink, that had been turned into a carnival for the summer. It was gross and after two bites I gave it to Franny and opted for a smoothie. After wondering around a little longer - watching a but of a baseball game and walking through that road where almost every film in america uses ( with the trees arching overhead) it was time to wonder back for a little rest. Not before looking through an Amazing record shop though! The biggest collection of sheet music I have ever seen!
After regrouping with everyone else we decided tonight was the night to see a show. Shame the show we wanted to see started at 7 pm and it was 630!
Oh well we thought! May as well see if there was anyway we could get tickets! Lucky we did. We managed to get third row balcony seats for 50 bucks! To Pricilla that is! It was great , minus the terrible fake Australian accents!
After the show we headed to subway for a late dinner before hayley decided it was time to go out again and so we went shopping. I discovered forever 21. An amazing shop it was stories high and we shopped in there on a Tuesday night until 1230am. Really weird.
But I wasn't tired yet, so when we went back to the apartment, we decided it was a perfect time to go grocery shopping. So that's what we did! 230 am in times square with a shopping trolly may sound weird but we fit right in!
I conked out at 330 again.
