Chau, I'm Martin the Mosquito coming live from Saigon. I have been following Louise and Heather for a number of days since they landed at the airport and realised that the sun did still shine.

I followed them to their hotel and watched in amusement as they climbed 5 flights of stairs to find out they had been given the wrong room and should have been only on the second floor. Upon entering the room they noticed that something was missing or rather the was something a little extra...a fully air conditioned bathroom - A HOLE IN THE DOOR. The one I took to be Heather fixed up the hole with a towel and all was well.

The next day it seemed they were doing the touristy stuff. First off they tried to go native, but everybody seemed to shy to serve them, but they didn't seem too delighted with the menu which consisted of turtle dove, snakes head, pigeon and rabbit to name but a few, needless to say they walked away with stomachs still empty. After much wandering they came across the good ol' reliable department store with their "safe" eateries and indulge in the reliant noodle soup.

They then visited the reunification palace were they saw a lot of tables and chairs and not much else, oh phones they seemed to also feature a lot. Then onto the War Remenants museum were they saw a couple of insulted americans and lots of disturbing pictures from the American war as the Vietnamese don't call it the Vietnam War.

Sunday was a brighter day and I had to do lots of flying as I had to follow them all the way to the Cu Chi tunnels on a day trip they had booked. They seemed to have lots of fun looking at all the ways they set traps for the americans and got to crawl through a part of the tunnel. At the end they were treated to fresh tapioca (and not the stuff you get from Tesco in tins) Louise seemed to think it resembled Wax and you were given crushed peanuts to dip it in and fresh peanut tea. (they made some joke about peanuts following them around and everything being made from peanuts but I didn't get it). So I followed them back to the city and to the hostel were they just relaxed for the rest of the day.

Monday they headed back towards town and straight into a beauty salon and 5 minutes Heather walked out alone. I couldn't get in to see what Louise was having done so I decided to follow Heather and see what she was up to. I followed her for about 3 hours, she wandered up to a gardens and zoo and down by the saigon river, I saw her go into a cafe and the look on her face was funny. I found out later that she had had to pay 22000 Dong for her bottle of water (about 60p) when usually its about 10p. So anyway she heads back towards the salon and Louise is waiting for her outside looking very much delighted with herself. She had poker straight hair!! 3 hours to have her hair straightened, not just with straighteners but with chemicals!!!!! The reward was good and consequentially was asked out by 3 different men in one day, must have been something in the chemicals!!!

So thats it really it will be sad to see them go but I can't be bothered to fly all the way to Cambodia.
