So I was hoping to come back to the hostel and go to bed cause I'm exhausted, but I have three new roommates who seem to have taken over the room. I figure I'll come write this and then I'm going to bed whether they're still up reading magazines and gossiping or not. I'm getting sick...on my last day of work before this vacation I could feel a cold coming on but I completely forgot about it. I thought my exhaustion was due to me pushing myself, but I'm definitely getting sick. It sucks, but I choose to ignore it and deal with it when I get home. Until then I'll just take lots of vitamin C. The trip to Fenway took way longer than I expected. On the way to the T I started to think that maybe there was a game tonight. I saw lots of Red Sox shirts, but wasn't sure if people always wore them (I've heard stories about Red Sox fans' pride in their team) and I was just now noticing because I was on my way to Fenway. When I got to the T it was packed. It was crowded earlier, but this time it was so packed that the doors wouldn't close. When the train started moving no-one fell over because we were all packed so tightly together. So then I was excited to see what Fenway Park looked like during game time. When I got there I really wanted to see the game but figured that tickets would be insanely expensive and I've been going over budget every day so far and couldn't afford to go. So I took some pictures and turned around to go back to the hostel. But then a guy came by and had one ticket left, so I decided to get it and I went to the game. It was delayed for an hour because it just starting pouring rain out of nowhere. The rain cleared after about an hour or so. The atmosphere before and after the game was fun and crazy. There are tons of bars by Fenway Park and between the stadium and the T (about two blocks). There are tons of people in bars, tons of people in the streets...it's a crazy fun party atmosphere. And the Red Sox didn't even win. I bet it's crazier when they win. The game itself was fine...I don't hate sports or anything but I don't follow them either. I just went to see the fans because I've heard so many stories about Boston Redsox fans and they seem so loyal to their team. They were a very interesting and entertaining crowd. I'm really glad I went, it was interesting. And to think that I was trying to convince myself to save Fenway Park for tomorrow because I'd already done so much today. So on top of all of the stuff I did today I also saw a Red Sox game. Hopefully this means that tomorrow I can take it easy. Ha, yeah right, there's no chance in that. I'll always find more to do.
