It's been a very long day so far. I got up at 7 because starting at 8 the car is parked in a two hour spot and I didn't want to get a ticket. Turns out I got one anyway because I parked overnight. So now I have no idea where to park tonight. And I'd love to take a nap but the car is once again parked in a 2 hour spot, so I have to go soon. I started by going to Malibu, which took way too long thanks to traffic. I forgot that sitting in L.A. traffic for all of 5 minutes is enough to create some road rage. After Malibu I went to Santa Monica and Venice and then I went to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I'd never been there before. It's pretty nice and has some really really nice houses. I also went to Hollywood Blvd. for a little while and saw them setting up a red carpet event, which was really cool. People were already lining up behind the barricades. It would be really cool to see some famous people, but I didn't have time to stick around. I am going to my friend Rachel's house at 6 and we are going to go to the Universal Walk outside of Universal Studios. I'm really excited to see her. I've known her since I was twelve and we don't get to see each other nearly enough. My day has pretty much been based on parking...all of the parking around here is 2 hour at a rate of $2 per hour. So basically since I got back from Malibu I've been moving the car every few hours or going to Hollywood Blvd. or Sunset Blvd. for a while to walk around. I'm so happy that I won't have to do that in Monterey and Santa Cruz. It's a pain. L.A. is kinda growing on me...as always when I come, I remember that I like to visit for a day or two. Then the heat and traffic really start to get to me. L.A. has been really hot, in the 80s or 90s, a lot different than what I left behind in Colorado! Just got back from hanging out with Rachel. We had a good time, as always. She's the type of person that, even if I don't see her for a long time, it always feels the same and I like that. We went to Citywalk at Universal Studios because I like it there. We didn't get there until 8 and, unfortionately, they closed at 9 so Rachel got me a birthday dinner at Bubba Gumps. It's weird cause the only time I've ever eaten there was two or three years ago at that exact location on my birthday. So apparently I'll only be eating at Bubba Gumps on my birthday at Universal City. Thanks again for dinner Rachel!
