As we arrived to melbourne it was raining :-) brillient. we got told not to worry summer doesnt start for 2 days. we got on the bus to melbourne and checked into are hostle, it was a bit crazy because it was schoolies week which is basicly all the school kids 18 or under going and getting drunk for a week. this was shocking to see because their were young people just being ill and crying every where. but it was the end of the week so not a problem. we were checked in to a 6 bed dorm with a uraguary guy called Gianni and Sirus who was canadian. both were traverlers not ozzys or schoolies.
the first day we went on a walk around town with Gianni we had lunch at Victoria market which was great it had food from all around the world under one roof. we then walked to were all the stadiums were, the stadiums in australia are not spread out around the country they are all in one location in ,melbourne they have the football, Ruby , Chricket and tennis stabium all next to each other. as we were down their we saw that a football game was on that night so decided to go watch it. before the game we put a small bet on a tweam to make it more excited me betting on melbourne hearts the home team and lynsey betting on a draw. the game was sydney fc vs melbourne hearts which were ment to be the two biggest teams in australia the game only had 5,000 people show up. the match was shockingly bad and at this point i can understand why they call it soccer because its not good enought to call football yet. the match had two disaloud goals which were a good 10 yards offside. by the end of the game we were chearing both sides to score. the game finished 0-0 which ment lynsey one the bet. on leaving the stadium lynsey asked what leauge was that leauge 2 no lynsey that was premiship football. :-) we met a holigan which must of been a reject from green street every thing he was saying was from the film he was a idiot. we went to find a bar for a beer but after trying to find a bar for half hour and being turned away when we did for wearing thons (flipflops) we decided a beer in the hostle was the best thing.
the next day we decided to go on a walk again at about 4pm we walked past a casino which we got told was the biggest casino in australia. so in are shorts flipflops and t-shirts best ons off cause we went in we both had 10 dollers each and thats it. we was playing roulet and we got from 20 dollers to 70 so 50 up we decided to walk away and go to a arcade over the road to have some fun the only problem is in the arcade you only win tickets and it was a bit borring so we headed back to the casino. we made a deal if we lose the 50 were walk broken even and if we win 150 were run being up. it took about 15 mins to lose the 50 dollers but what a rush it was playing rulet, after a fun free night we headed back to the hostle.
the following day we decided to leave melboure (with money still) and head to sydney but before we went we decided to get are chinesse visas the ones we should of got at home we got to the emberssey to find it close. dam it. so decided to go to a old prison insteed, the prison was called gaol and was built in 1841 and still in opporation till 1990s . during this time the prison had essapes and 135 hangings. you also got locked in a cell and the lights turned of to show you how bad the cells were, as you can all imagine lynsey was really excited about this.
that evening we got the train to sydney for a all night train and coach trip across country we checked the weather and o yes its raining in sydney rain coats it is then . . .. . .
