Aloha
SO we arrive at the airport and unforunatley with the budget airline we were with didnt get laid ( the recieving of a flower garland) but barry brought me a orchid one anyway!
We arrived at our hotel and checked in shortly after barry went to complain the shower wasnt working and had our room changed . He told the receptionist that he was a plumber and that she should have it checked . we move roms again and this shower didnt work either , so the receptionist came up and showed the 'plumber' how to use it turned out he wasnt following the instrutions on the wall!
We went to Waikiki Beach the famous stretch of sand for restruants and surfing. On my birthday i got loads of pressie from barry and he got me a little muffing for a birthday cake which made it really special. we brought snorkels and went in the water , we were swimming around for a while seeing nothing then i spotted a green sea turtle just swimming along .. i choked trying to tell barry to look . we followed him for a while . it was huge but swam so gently through the water. that night we went out for a nice meal at a place called dukes the stakes were amazing and we tried hula pie this was a cake which had oraios base ice cream then fudge then biscit then cream then choc sauce it was beaufitfull.
The next day we rented out this moped for two thing! Bright yellow two seater with three wheels top speed 30mph ! we drove around the coast . we went to Haweima Bay which was like a conservation beach. we went snorkeling there and saw so many beautiful fish . we swam with massive sholes of fish and looked at all the coral. The water was so clear and so full of fish and other things! This beach you had to pay and watch a safety film before you were even allowed on the beach. When we left it decided to rain HARD, like the unpredictable weather in Hawaii . we were soaked driving along already wet and only getting wetter in our converatable on the highway with the rain like pins on our face! Soon enough the sun was out again !
After three days in Waikiki we had had enough of the busy commmerical area and made our way to the North Shore .
The bus right was halious.. we made friends with a tramp called Tim who we didnt know was a tramp at the time . Then on the bus Denis another guy started having a argument with a crazy old lady about the legalisation of weed ! she was having none of it even the bus driver had to tell them to calm down! i was crying with laughter! Denis even made us speak to his girlfriend in gorgia which was werid! we got of and Time showed us where we can stay. The hostel was rank with maggots ! enough said, but we stayed .
The north shore is beautiful, amazing beaches to yourself and stunning views . Everyone is so chilled out and alot of fun. We hitched hiked around as its the way it is out there .
The one scary experience was with Chronic John he picked us up at 5am we were on our way to shark diviing. He said for a couple of dollars he would take us there , so we got it amongst all the crap he had in the car with our feet on top of a cool box. He was asking us loads of questions and generally strange. Next we saw a knife on the front passenger seat and then he asked barry to drink this drink he had with him and to take a big gulp ! Then he asked me to hold his medication! F**king of his head ! we got there in one piece we gave him some money for petrol and he insisted we took two beers and two soft drinks . so came of pretty nice ! he was alright guy i think to many crime films got our minds on over drive! Shark diving was amazing we took a 15 mins boat ride out into the ocean and jumped straight in , in the cage obsiviously! There were around 13 sharks circuling us for the whole 40mins we were in there . Bay sharks and sand sharks i think they were called . but massive i mean huge i could probally swim around in there tummys ! It was such a good experience i had a couple of screams come out of my snorkel but it was truely brillaint and such a rush!
we then left the north of the island to return to waikiki. we found a really nice hostel and checked in. we decided to go to a dinner show on the beach called aloha which means hello, good bye and love in hawian. the coach trip to the show was great every one was signing and having a good time. once we arrived the first thing was to watch the pig get removed from the gound this is a hawian traditcion. then their was dancing and singing and then dinner was served. the food was so nice and we was drinking hawaiis blues which were great. the night finished with dancing and fire dancers/breathers.
the following day was are last day in hawai we remembered we had not been to perl harbour and could not leave honolulu with out paying a visit. so we decied on the way to the airport to visit the harbour. luckly their was storage for are bags, so we visited pearl harbour for those who dont know what pearl harbour is then please feel free to google it . . . . . . .
we are about to get on the plane to new zeland in doing so we will lose a whole day out in are life and the only way to get it back is to go around the world the other way. so november the 13th 2010 did not esisit for us. so were always going to be a day younger . . . .
