Finally we have started our world trip , after months of planning.
To start the trip of Barry and I cracked open a beer at 11 in the morning at heathrow. we had already learnt a vital lesson ... a e ticket means you can actually check in online ! we felt like divs.

After the 11 and a half hour plane trip we finally landed in Rio , straight away we were thrown in the deep end knowing no portuguese! we had a crash course from a local while we were waiting for the bus, Barry then the professional tried having a conversation with the bus driver , which lets face it was just both of them talking and not knowing anything ! haha we got of and with our back packs on we set of to find our hostel.. a 5minuet walk turned into 45 minuets advuenture through the back streets of Botofogo !

Everyone here at the Backpackers hostel are so friendly and as soon as we arrived it was like a family not a bunch of starngers thrown in a room together ... its werid we dont know each other but we all have something in common.

we got up this morning and walked to the beach and saw the Suagr Mountain the weather isnt that great but the clouds covering the Moutnain seemed to make it even more magical, Later today we will be visiting Christ Statue and booking up a few tours locally.
