So we met up with my cousin in Bangkok and his girlfriend arranged for us to get the 5 o clock train, but when we got there, there was only room on the 6 o clock train, there was a little confusion as too where we were sitting. We finally found our seats, Ben was down the carriage to me and Simon. As we were bored we decided to head to the café on the train, this was ok, very busy!! We met a guy from Bangkok that was telling us where to go and in mid convo the lights went out and a party started!!!!

We got chatting to a girl from Brighton who had a Thai friend, it was awesome as she book us into the same place they are staying!!

Ben had to head off to find some friends that he is delivering a parcel to so me and Simon hit the markets and visited a temple in the old city of Chaing Mai bartering is now one of our major skills, I picked up some cool bits and also some fisherman pants!! Whilst Simon picked up a sexy shirt.

So we headed back to where we are staying and then went out with the crew we met on the train, we hit the walking street which is full of market stools and cool bits. Had a drink or two and headed to grab a bite recommended Pad Thai ( the Thai girl we met on train). After that we headed to a bar that was pretty cool, we sat on mats on the floor and drank the Thai whiskey and soda. When we got back to the place we are staying two of the girls headed for the 7-11 (food store) to pick up a bite o eat and surprised me with another bottle of Thai whiskey we sat around in one of the girls rooms and drank the night way until 4 am.

We had to get up at 8.30 to head to the Doi Suthdei temple which is on the top of the mountain, this was not good I was a little drunk, but not too bad. I woke Simon at 4am when I stumbled back to our room as he was knocked from the day so had a early night, well 1 ish so not that early!!!!!

So I (well me and Simon) overslept the alarm and 15mins later bang bang bang you coming!! s*** s*** we are coming one min. we quickly got dressed and headed to rent the mopeds in which we were to travel to the temple on, this was fun, chaing mai is a little busy and crazy, so I drove and Simon was on the back, this was thought best from his track record on Ko Samet!! The temple was really nice, well as nice as a temple can be!!! And yep once you have seen one they are pretty much the same.

We are going to visit the kings celebration of flowers tommorow and then booking a trek for the day after!!!!!!!

UPDATE :- 31/01/07

After the temple we had a little nap and then headed to a place called Khum Khantoke which was so cool, basically it was 350B and you got lots of different dishes and watched Thai dancing and a little show so amazing and we would have never found it if it wasn’t for our Thai friend that we met on the train!!!

On our 3rd day in chaing mai we visited the flower festival, this was to celebrate 60 years of the king, it was very nice, hot and lots of orchids, I have now seen all the orchids in the world, smallest, biggest, etc etc!!

After the flower show we headed back to where we are staying and had a little rest, got ready for dinner and headed into town, had a lovely dinner, Simon had spicy food (pet mak mak) which is thai for very spicy!! Georga (met on train from brighten and staying at same place is teaching me!!)  I am picking it up ok now!!

So the 4th day in chaing mai was spent trekking, elephant riding , bamboo rafting and visiting the hill tribes, I have bought a small amount of stuff now I need to stop, but its pennies to us and a lot to a member of the tribe so I have a pressey for you mum, dad and brads!! Oh and lou I haven’t forgot you 

And after a long hot!!! (luxury) shower we are going to head out to the night barzza (not think that is right spelling but its like a big market)

Trekking night me, Simon and georga went to the good view and then onto the riverside bar, which I drove too on the ped with the guys on the back, It was thought that after two beers we should take the bike back! That is what we did and headed to the roof top bar (reggae bar), where we met some Austrian ladies, which were very drunk!!!!

We stayed in bed until 2pm and then I went out to burn photos onto a cd, I was gone for two hours and got lost, I returned to two notes and a packet of crisps left by Simon and aom (Thai friend of Georga’s). Later I met them and we got a bite to eat and then to a temple, which yep was pretty much the same as all the others we had been too!!!  

We then went shopping to buy a present for our Thai friends to say thank you, we then headed to the place that aom booked, where we ate and drank to 5am, well I fell asleep at about 3am, but Simon made up for me by playing the love strings to all the bar!!!!
