After a false start thanks to a broken down bus, we arrived in Bristol to cool off after Glasto.

The first day or so was very quiet, consisting of exciting things like washing our clothes, watching movies, and finally eating a meal that didn't come from a stall.

To save on the cashola we moved hostels after two nights, hoping for just a slight downgrade on quality. But despite having a bowling alley and pumping tunes until 1am, our hopes were dashed by lots of flies, smelly bathrooms and creepy Polish roommates!

We took the opportunity to spend as much time away from the hostel as possible, exploring more of the city, some markets and of course some sites made (not very) famous by UK teen drama Skins. For the fans out there, we even took a trip way out into the Bristol suburbs to see Cooks' uncles pub from the show, known in real life as the Fishponds Tavern.

For our final day in England we headed to the ancient Roman city of Bath to get a dose of history. It was probably the most picturesque of the towns we'd been up to that point, with relatively clean, winding pedestrian streets and pristine parks, one of which we didn't explore given they were charging entry to it!

We did the obvious tourist attraction and did a tour of the roman baths themselves, which while an interesting story was a bit underwhelming given how dirty they were, as they are left untouched so as to preserve them in their 'original form'.

Next day we were on the bus for a short trip over the border into Wales, and the city of Cardiff.
