We arrived safely in Jo'burg on Wed. After forgetting our combination lock number and trying 1000 different combinations - a bolt cutter came in very handy!!
So we are now off. Met Margaux and Reghard and flew into Vic Falls, Zim. After walking around the ghostily quiet town of Zim - where the currency has now been discontinued (this is after the 100 trillion note was printed).
We have warthogs and buck right outside our chalet. Princess Michelle arrived with hairdryer, 4 books, 4 hats, hairstraighter and hairspray in tow (yet decided a sleeping mat was not a priority). We went on a beautiful sunset Zambezi cruise (we saw hippos and crocodiles) and then had a traditional dinner at the Boma Restaurant. I also had a witch doctor reading - can't wait for those 8 grandkids!!!
Today, we finally ventured to the Victoria Falls. It is truly spectacular however you do get extremely soaked.... We also had our tour briefing tonight for our Okavango trip.
All in all, it is so sad to see how Zim has deteriorated, however the people are extremely friendly, in good humour and very optimistic about the future. It makes you think....
