th July - We headed into London Town for the day, we saw the extent of thieving that Britain has done at the British Museum. Headed down to Covent Garden where we checked out Meek's new favorite shop 'Radley' then had lunch where we watched a couple of the buskers. Then on our way to Regent St we accidently ended up a Trafalgar square, which was a welcome surprise. We then checked out Piccadilly Circus before heading into Ripley's believe it or not. After being a little freaked out at what some people do in their spare time we headed up Regent & then Oxford St checking out many of the shops, with some close attention payed to Ben Sherman, the Ferrari shop, Gouldi & a very nice patisserie.
th July - Another day trip, this time off to the Cotswolds. We drove through Chipping Norton, walked through the quintessential town of Broadway & stopped for lunch on the hills overlooking Cheltenham. We then stopped for afternoon tea at Broughton-on-the-water overlooking the stream that runs through the town before finishing off the day walking through Stow-on-the-wold.
th July - Again we headed off to London town and headed to the Tower of London. Well for somewhere we weren't sure about visiting this turned out to be a very intriguing day, we had a guided tour around the castle by a beef-eater, before then exploring the White Tower, Bloody Tower, Traitor's Gate and walking across the top of the surrounding walls. We also visited the chapel, saw a changing of the guard before eventually making it into see the Crown Jewels. We then headed to Thai for dinner with Rose (Chris' friend from work), first Thai in 2 months mmm………. We then went off to see the musical Chicago. Slightly disappointing - will have to try the West End again…
th July - Our first chilled out day in a while picked up some bits and pieces for our road trip before heading out to dinner with Marcus & Mandy to Blanc.
th July - Well our road trip began; we headed to the South West of England and went to take a look at Stone Henge. Despite the bucketing rain and reports it was over rated we were quite marveled by it overall. We then had a quick detour via wood henge before heading to Bath.
th July - We trekked around our favourite English town so far Bath. We explored the Roman baths, now the Romans really knew aboutluxury and pampering and that was a 1000 years ago…. So if my past life was not Princess then I hope it was Roman.. that evening we went on a bizarre bath comedy walk. What great fun to see the sights of Bath at night whilst following a crazy comedian in a purple suit… what a great laugh!!
