12th, 13th, 14th & 15th - Cote D'Azur (French Riviera)
We spent our first morning in the famous French Riviera exploring the quaint old town of Eze. We wound our way up through the cobbled streets, past the amazing array of cute little shops to the top of the castle and enjoyed one of the best views in the area. We then explored the peninsula of Villefranche where we had lunch on the beach overlooking the marina. We then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Nice, walking along the beach and exploring some of the many shops. We also had a drink French Riviera style in one of the numerous beach bars with their rented out sun loungers.
After driving along one of the most romantic drives in Europe, sunroof down and enjoying the view we arrived in Monaco. We took in all the massive cruise boats with Russ as our local boat expert. Then to cut a long story short our wallet ended up in the La Poste box and we had some interesting encounters with Monaco police who can speak English but don't want to speak English… So wallet down and a few calls home to suspend our cards we headed up to Monte Carlo casino to see what the hype was about and check out the fancy cars at the front.. After suffering in the heat we had another dip in the med before going back to Monaco for the worlds best and most expensive McChicken (russ's recommendation).
Next day we scooted off to see Yacht-ville Antibes - a place with mega cruisers and filled with eager yachties lined up at the crewing agents. We then drove across to glitzy Cannes - large beach boulevard lined with huge palm trees and every designer store under the sun!! We spent our time strolling around the beach before having one last French Crepe!!
