G'day …

Wow I actually get to write a blog all on my own...and I certainly am all on my own whilst Jo is back home in the cold until the end of the month.

I arrived last Wednesday after a mammoth journey. A 12 hour wait at Perth airport is not recommended… anyway arrived in Melbourne and am staying with 'relos'. I have been introduced to everyone in the village of Dingley, one of the suburbs of Melbourne as the visiting Pom.... The Australians I have met seem to be interested in a number of things about the British way of life… I have so far had intellectual conversations about The Spice Girls, Prince William and the price of petrol..

I have fallen in love with this country already… the worship football, beer and pies (well I can go without the pie but it's almost against the law here to watch an aussie rules footie match without a pie and sauce…).

Jim didn't fix it for me but years after writing my letter to meet Scott and Charlene on the set of neighbours… half of my dream came true… I HAVE BEEN TO RAMSEY STREET…. and 'true story' the security guard stopping 'British' fans from entering the close (no one else in Australia even knows what neighbours is, let alone where the street is...) was only a Charlton Athletic supporter.... how random is that!! Anyway he let me take photo's of the houses and I'm looking to book the studio tour next week.


I am off down the Great Ocean Road tomorrow on a bit of a road trip to see the 12 Apostles and Bell Beach etc etc, really looking forward to it as everyone I have met out here has spoken of the breathtaking views and stunning scenery... (need to get as much culture and sightseeing in before Jo fly's out, will be beaches all the way until March!!)

The weather is forecast for high 30's next week so it's gonna be a hot one.... GET IN!

Anyway, hope everyone's well, will try and sort out photos asap..
