So we had a bit of an adventure in Taupo and Rotorua, stocking up on all the adventure experience we could and it was EPIC!!! Taupo is an incredible place and I would say probably my fav that Ive been to in the North Island, there's so much to do its crazy and we were lucky enough to have a good go at a lot it. So here is a breakdown of activities for Taupo...

TAUPO BUNGY SWING: Very cool. Its not AJ Hackett so I was a bit nervous but they are BRILLIANT!!! The good thing about this bungy site is they send a shuttle to pick you up and take you home as most places do, but when you get there you don't have to climb anything like you do with most bungys :) When you get dropped off you are at the actual site you jump off. Pretty easy. having done bungys before we decided to do the Swing. Its a 2 people seat, you get hoisted into the air, (rather too close to cliff wall) but then they drop you and once again I find myself trusting my entire life into a rope. :/ its a lot of fun. I would recommend the swing. Its not as scary as the jump because you don't have to do anything, its all done for you. Check out Grabone too, its on there a lot.

ORESOME WHITEWATER RAFTING: As a first time rafter and a general scardy wuss, this was brilliant!!! Its Grade3 so its not too scary and you go through 60 something rapids so theres always something exciting happening. It wasn't a massive adrenaline rush and MJF will say its not as good as the 7m waterfall White Water Rafting in Rotorua but I would recommend this. You also get to go to the natural hot springs after to warm up and get homemade soup to warm up which is delish!!!! The staff are brilliant and the pictures taken are great quality. Def recommend.

RAPIDS JET BOATING: Jet boating is huge in New Zealand they do it everywhere. We posted about Auckland Jet Boat whilst in Auckland. Rapids Jet in Taupo is def my fav for fun factor!!! You take off in the little water Ferrari going over the rapids. Fab fun!!!

HUKA FALLS JET BOATING: This is my fav Jet boating for location. You get to go right up to Huka Falls and it is AMAZING!!!

TAUPO WHITE WATER SIMULATOR: This is cool. Its a 4D Cinematic experience (you get a little wet in it) and it goes through all the activities you can do in Taupo, so you jump out of a plane and white water raft, heli ride etc. Its not huge for adrenaline or anything like that but if you got kiddies who want to experience stuff or you wanna see whats available, maybe a little scared but wanna see what its like, I would def go for this! Great place for booking onto activities too.

HUKA HONEY HIVE: Its freeeeeee!!! And worth a visit. Find out about bees and honey, taste some yummy honey, whisky honey and honey icecream. You will see how much stuff you can do with honey! I liked it.

HUKA FALLS PRAWN PARK: So don't go expecting to catch hundreds of prawnies. It might be a little tough. For example, between two of us we caught one prawn. (there was obviously something wrng with our equipment :/) Its fun, you get a wooden fishing rod and sit at a pool waiting for a bite, then you can have them cooked in the restaurant. Loads of stuff for kiddies to do too, mud foot spas, tours....and a brilliant Hole In One competition. Win money if you get a hole in one... its fab. Worth a visit.

CRATERS OF THE MOON: One of MANY geothermal activity centres you can visit in the area. This is probably one of the cheapest I think and its great. 45 minute walk round and loads of information along the way.

ORAKEI KORAKO: Another Geothermal badboy. This is my favourite. If you wanna see a bit of everything do this one. You cant explain it all unless you see it for yourself but I would highly recommend this place!!! It will blow your mind.

So Taupo may cost you a bit of money but don't skrimp here, its not the place to try and save money. Remember Taupo is the cheapest place to skydive as well and is an easy entrance to Tongariro National Park. EASILY spend a week-10 days in Taupo. Great Activities, fab nightlife, good accommodation and a brilliant atmosphere everywhere. Just Beautiful!!!! xxx
