After out second over night bus journey we arrived in Trujillo it was a bus journey from hell, very bumpy and I had the aisle seat which meant when things fell from the over head compartments they had a direct hit on to my face, not light things either!! Well its one way to change the look of my nose without surgery!

As soon as we got to Trujillo we agreed to a tour by an overly pushy hostel owner, we got taken in a very cool beaten up beetle and experienced firsthand how Peruvians take no consideration for any other driver or predestination on the roads or pavements, I think I gained a few extra white hairs for the privileged!! Luckily enough I wasn't in the front and insisted that Nicky should take full advantage of sitting in the front. Clara (the pushy hostel owner) was very knowledgeable about the pre Inca sites as she used to work in these particular sites however at times it was very overbearing and felt a bit used when she used our trip which we were paying her for an opportunity for her to make personal visits and ran her daily errands!!

Huaca De La Sol are over 700 years older than Chan Chan and are attributed to the Moche period and is the largest single Pre-Columbian structure in Peru, although about a third of it has been washed away. The structure was amazing, the detailed beautiful the artwork at the temples were still very detailed it is a shame they haven't preserved things as well here.

Chan Chan the largest Pre-Columbian city in the Americas built in AD 1300, and the largest adobe city in the world. It had been restored which is disappointing as you couldn't tell which was original and which was restored however Clara our guide knew which was which.

Trujillo doesn't feel like a positive place, during the day everyone appears negative and during the night you just don't want to venture out at all, it wasn't a very nice city! The only good thing to come out with it was their extremely good and cheap manicures and pedicures, which I and Nic both too advantage of!!

Two weeks in and we still haven't managed to find a decent drinking hole which meant heading back to the hostel with £3 bottle of vodka and have our own little party. It's been 12 days and no decent drinking places yet we are slowly going mad!! There is only so much cheap vodka you can drink!

We had a haircut in Trujillo again so cheap, luckily I managed to instruct my hairdresser only to take off a few inches unlike Nicky's as she hacked off a good three or four inches , taken it to her shoulder length, I know it needed a good cut but even I recognized not that much..Nicky wasn't impressed I personally thought it was funny..it will grow back...eventually!!!
