Got the ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia the got on a bus to Montevideo, first and last impressions are.........not amazing just a very built up city streets are dirty and its so so humid, the hostel we stayed in was furnished like it was from the 50's with no air con just a fan. Can't complain too much as it didn't cost very much but still, not amazed. First day we arrived we didn't bring any Uruguayan Pesos with us this turned out to be a mistake as no ATM machines in the city centre had money or worked with our MasterCard, an hour later we found 1 ATM machine in the whole city centre that worked, panic over be bought a McDonalds to celebrate. The best thing I will say about the city is that it has a cracking bus station and made it very easy to get a bus out. Silver lining and all that off to Punta Del Diablo next by the beach.
