Mount Isa to Renner Springs 762K (Via Camooweal, Barkly Homestead and Three Ways)

We left early as we had a long drive. The Road House at Cammoweal was fantastic, plenty of cowboys in town as the Camooweal Drovers Festival was on. The Road House was highly organised, very professional great English and Irish backpackers working there. We had breakfast and moved on. Next Barkly Homestead, indescribable, more backpackers who were the absolute anthesis of the great girls in Camooweal. We ate but the rolls were shocking, stale, not to be recommended. Next Stop Three Ways, worse than Barkly, wouldn't have thought possible. Can't describe how bad the meat pies were, quite the connoisseur of pies by now.

Next Stop Renner Springs: We had just checked in at the Renner Springs Motel, on the way back to the car a bloke approached me and asked if we were staying the night, yes I replied and he told me there was a very good singer coming to night for a gig, 'very good, who is it???. 'Me' he said 'who's me? Phil O'Brien he said 'do you know me'???? Sorry Phil not from a bar of soap! Phil was not deterred; we promised we would turn up for the show, and were not sorry we did. What a hoot the gig was, everybody really enjoyed his singing. He also had written a few books one of which he autographed for AA and me 'The Minor Successes of a Bloke That Never Had a Real Lot of Luck.'

AA ordered the rissoles for dinner we were wondering if they came in another calibre but we didn't mention it. I ordered the Silverside on the recommendation of the owner. I thought what can you do to silverside to ruin it??? Not a lot I thought, I'm on a winner tonight. The meal arrived, I could not cut the meat, vege cold, mash even colder. Asked for my money back, which they did grudgingly. Didn't risk staying for breakfast, bought 2 small bottles of orange juice $9.00 and departed.
