The great walkabout has begun with our flight to Hong Kong being the first stage
So far.....
Peter kindly took us to Heathrow arriving at 18.30pm for a 21.00 flight on BA. We needed to ensure sufficient time to enjoy the Business Class lounge.
Not quite the easy start we anticipated though. It started smoothly through check in, including being able to check our bags all the way through to Sydney despite flying Qantus on the Hong Kong to Sydney leg. Off to security and sail through there, or Mary did, but I was asked to step aside and have my carry on inspected. The check revealed two items containing more than 100 mills of liquid ....... two Percy Pig snow globes !!! The choice, abandon them or check in my unlockable carry on. Save the Pig won the day. So for me back through security, check in the soft bag with two glass globes, albeit packed as best we could with a mix of hard and soft items we were going to carry - see you in Sydney Percy. Back through security and off to the Lounge for peace and quiet not to say a drink as well while contemplating the fate of Percy.
