Hi Guys we are back in penrith now for a few days. Since our last blog we have had the most amazing time in queensland. We had lots of fun on the beaches in the sunshine coast, the boys have been working on there surfing and have managed to catch a few waves on the body boards, but due to the impending cyclone the surf is pretty fierce so they have had a few hairy moments. Sarah, and MIa and baby Lexi came down to Wet N Wild theme park on the Gold Coast with us and we met up with Gavin and Natalie. It had to be the hottest day yet and we must of chosen the biggest sun trap to sit in as a base for the day. The park was fun there were lots of great rides, most of them which i wasnt brave enough for but Ryan and Cat Ben and Gav and Nat tried most of them out. I was happy splashing around in the wave pool with Mia. Really great memories and perfect day.... the girls headed of back up to the sunshine and i was very sad, even after just a few days we all said it seemed strange without mia and lexi around, great kids. That night we headed out in Surfers PAradise - got ready in gavin and nats luxury hotel room which was a nice cahnge from sweating it out straightening our hair in the campervan... and doing out make up in the wing mirrors lol. Our first big drinking night out... had dinner at Vegas in Paradise... good feed. Found a few nice bars... one in which one fo the aussie idol singers was singing in but he didnt seem that popular it was a bit empty!
Woke the guys early for a surf the next morning but the rip tide was huge so we all really struggled even just to stand upright in the sea!
We had a few big drives on the way back to mum and dads, a stop at Emerald Beach on the way... dinner cooked in the camper by Cat was yum and sat outside in the peace listening to the waves lap the shore on emerald beach right next to our campsite. A sunny morning woke us and on walking back from the beach Cat and i met two Kangaroos just roaming around our campervan... after looking out for some aussie wildlife the whole trip and only finding a few bits of road kill this was a pretty amazing sight and we woke the boys "boys boys theres kangaroos out here" a blearly eyed ryan poked his head out of the top bunk in awe lol .
The weather has perked up alot though and we have had a chilled out day today around mum and dads house in a hot hot 32 degrees in the shade. I had to nip off to the shopping centre in the middle of the day to get some air con but cat sweated it out around the pool. The boys found the rowing machine and got a quick training session in this morning before the sun really started beating down on them ... they looked like they were struggling a bit though :) Have had a nice restful day and cooked a homecooked lasagne for us all tonight... we are just about to play a bit of rock band before heading down to some more tranquillity in Lake Jindabyne tomoro with a hopefully a bit of a trek up Mount Kosiosko on Sunday. THe boats are on the yute and the bags are packed.
Have uploaded as many photos as i could mainly of the first part of our trip... will do more when we get back... enjoy x
