With pocket guide map in hand & the underground tube map in the other I set off for a day of sight seeing. Mums pocket guide she bight for me came in very handy. I got off a packed train at Picadilly Square and as I ascended to street level a whole new world appeared, an amazing fountain stands in the middle of these streets lined with beautiful historic buildings with cast iron features and stone carvings. I walked around all day in awe of the city. There is so much to see. My journey takes me too St Anns church, Leicester Square, St Martins, Trafalga Square, national art gallery, St James Park, Horse Guard Parade, Parliament St., St Margaret's Church, Big Ben, Parliamentary houses & along the Thames to sit and have lunch by the river. Then back across Westminster bridge, along the Queens walk past the London eye & National theatre. To Waterloo station to take the tube to London Bridge, walking back down along the queens walk to Tower Bridge, past Hay's Lane & the HMS. I cross over on Tower Bridge to the Tower of London, then sit down at Paul, a coffee shack on the river to have a nice hot tea & relax. Later meeting up with a friend & have a Fosters, the local Australian drink (who even drinks this in Australia?). Getting lost on the Tube on the way back to my hotel was testing, survival in another Country so far so good
