Today was one of those perfect days. One of those days that everything goes right & life is great. I feel so lucky sometimes. It was my day off & I decided to go to Guildford. Timing could not have been better. It was a brilliant tepid sunny spring day, one of the best so far & I didn't have to work. I caught the bus to the high street. I walked around the town & came across the castle. It had beautiful gardens full of flowers blooming & bright green grass. Inside the castle there was a swarm of ladybugs. They were everywhere. Then at the top of the castle you could look out at the whole town. I left to walk the streets, there were so many little cobblestone lanes & tiny little alley's. I stopped for lunch at a quaint little Italian restaurant. There were no seats outside so I went in through the tiny stairways and rooms and found a place by the window. Everything was set out on the tables perfectly, it was material napkin kind of place. But the prices were reasonable and I had won £30 on poker last night so I decided to treat myself. There was a street busker outside playing a violin. Such subtle soft tunes, elegant and graceful. I sat enjoying my three course meal it absolute bliss. Thinking that this is one of those moments I will remember forever and smile about how beautiful life can be. When I was able to walk again after such a big meal, I made my way down to the river. I walked along the riverbank. Then back past the museum. I continued to walk around the streets taking in all that was Guildford and enjoying this opportunity I have right now to be so immersed in the English culture. A little tired and still very full 6 hours after my massive lunch I think I am going to have an early night. I am excited to see what the not to distant future holds.
