The VIP section was really nice and I was happy i paid a little extra for it. I had a single seat in the back and they provided a meal and wine and blanket. It was super warm and I was comfortable but couldn't really sleep. We arrived around 5am and Anthonia told me she was throwing up all night from food poisoning and I felt super bad. We had eaten the same thing so it must have been from something she ate the day or 2 prior. Once we got our luggage we were taken to a cafe where we had to wait until the tour office opened up at 9am (Perla De Bolivia). She slept and I ate and had a smoothie and coffee and organized my things until it was 9am. We were the first once in the office. Uyuni is a very small desserted town with really nothing there so thakful that we were just there to catch the bus for the 3 day tour that left at 10:30am. I checked to make sure I was still getting a single bed the first night and the guy who had walked in was telling the other guy something in Spanish (who ended up being our tour guide). I knew right off the bat that he wasn't going to be the best because of his attitude and the way he talked, seemed cocky. Anyway, while we were waiting we met this German couple who we ended up becoming the closest with and shared a car with (along with a UK couple). So there were 6 of us in one car and then another car came along that was going to Chile at the end of the 3 day tour. This mom and daughter from Canadad, Australian couple, and these two best girlfriends from Canada. It was a nice big group and we all got along. The first stop was at this train cemetary that was somewhat cool but not that interesting, then we stopped at this salt factory where they showed us how salt is distributed from Bolivia. Then we arrived a the salt dessert! I had been wanting to go here for so long and i was drinking a Quinoa beer ont the drive, loving life. We stopped to have lunch at this place and took some pictures. Then drove a little further to take more pictures and videos and then stopped at another place along the dessert where there was this cacti dessert which was really beautiful and amazing to see and then drofe a little further to watch the sunset with some wine and crackers. It was really nice and relaxing. We got to the salt hostel just in time for dark and had to argue with the tour guide about the single room. Ended up sleeping with Anthonia in a room and it was fine and then had a nice dinner (they didn't provide water which was hilarious). Woke up the next morning well rested and then went to a few stops with volcanos and lagoons with flamingos. It was awesome seeing the pink flamingos for the first time and we ate at this really cool place with a view of the flamingos. Then we saw a red lagoon and stopped at this hostel that was supposed to be really cold but actually wasn't too bad. There was the cutest little boy there that we played with and then had a nice warm tea crackers and then dinner and wine. I couldn't really sleep well but got some sleep before waking up at 5am for the last day of the tour. It was really dark and cold and the stars were beautiful but annoying we had to wake up early just to take the people to Chile basically. We first stopped at this hot springs volcano holes thing that was really neat and then hot springs that no one wanted to go in. Then to the green lagoon that wasn't actually green because it wasn't windy enough. Separated from the Chile car and then drove all the way back to Uyuni which was a long and brutal drive. I was tired and had to sit in the back where it was super bumpy and uncomfortable. Thankfully was able to switch to the middle halfway there and felt better. We arrived in Uyuni around 4pm and got changed and the German couple and us went to get pizza. It was a nice place to sit and chat for a few hours before catching the next ngiht bus to Sucre (at 10pm). Getting on the bus was an ordeal. We had two bottles of wine to split and had to walk around to find a printer becuase the lady was saying we had to print our tickets even though we had pictures of the ticket we had purchased online. Nothing was opened and we asked around and even walked in on this party that was going on that was spretty funny. We went back after trying and thankfully Anthonia spoke well enough Spanish that we sweet talked our way into the ticket finally and on the bus. This Australian girl came on and thankfully switched seats with Anthonia so she could sit next to me. We chatted for a couple hours about our travels and she's also a yoga teacher so we talked about that and Australia and then tried to get some rest. I watchd some shows and tried to go to bed but couldn't fall asleep and then felt sick like I was going to throw up. I tried peeing in a Pringles container and then my body temperature started to heat up quickly so I really thought I was going to puke. I woke up Anthonia and went down to the bathroom to try to throw up but wasn't able to. I felt somewhat better after 10 minutes and just closed my eyes and thankfully was able to relax a little. We arrived in . Sucre early around 4:30am and the three of us split an uber to our hostels.
