Day Ninety Two - April 7
We woke up just in time to see a glorious sunrise overlooking Malta. Even Janice was up excited about our visit to this island. Little did we know that would be the best thing of the morning.
Shortly after 08:30 the captain came over the intercom to make the announcement that due to strong winds and the difficulty of entering the port, the difficult decision was made to cancel the Malta visit. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, it is never good news when the Captain comes on any other time than for his noon update.
Another huge disappointment ... especially when you could see the island. We can only hope that things improve because we have not seen much on this segment.
- Bermuda cancelled
- Ponte Delgada (Azores) cancelled and replaced by Gilbratar
- Tangier, Morocco cancelled as country not allowing foreign travellers at this time
- Gilbratar subsequently cancelled due to severe weather
- Melilla, Italy cancelled - severe weather
- Cagliari, Italy replacement
- Velletta, Malta cancelled - severe weather and now there is a shortage of supplies. At lunch we learned that twenty people from the kitchen were to help bring the provisions on board. No lettuce as it was to be picked up in Malta. I am not sure who is responsible to make good on payment to the suppliers. Not alot of fruit onboard as well but lots of wine thankfully!
Before noon we were told to complete a health immigration form for the Israeli government that is causing more stress on the passengers and on top of this trivia was cancelled due to a medical emergency.
What medical emergency you ask - well everyone needed to receive a PCR test 48 hours prior to arriving in Israel and then take another PCR test when we arrive in the country. We are also hearing rumours that the crew will not be aloud off which is sad for them as we were doing an overnight.
The Magical Mystery Cruise continues.........

Lynne I am impressed how well you are taking all the disappointments- I think I’d be asking for my money back by now!
Martin James Woods Janice and I decided we would not be upset for the places we missed but happy at the places we visited for the first time.
Brenda Letain What a beautiful sunrise! Breathtaking. I know you are both extremely grateful to travel this year no matter the circumstances. Weather always dictates so it's best to be safe. Keep taking things in stride.
DENNIS M I love your PMA. Positive Mental Attitude. It works.
