Day Thirteen January 18
The Isle of Kauai (Pronounced Ka-wa-ee in Hawaii or Kah-why in English), is the fourth largest of the Hawaiian Islands. Kauai is known as the Garden Island where parts of the island have the most rainfall of anywhere else in the world.
Today we scheduled a helicopter ride with Ali'i Air Tour that was breathtaking. Travelling along the mountain tops and the coastline was spectacular. We flew over the Waimea Canyon as well which is also known as the Grand Caynon of the Pacific and also saw the Jurasssic Waterfalls.
We were pleasently surprised to see that we had booked a private tour- just the 2 of us and the pilot. We had also booked an open door helicopter allowing us a better view of the spectacular scenary. Janice's highlight was seeing a mother whale with her calf swimming next to her.
Both of us felt very safe and I would do another one anyday.

Brenda Letain How lovely! I'm sure the mother whale and her calf was comforting for Janice to see.
Dennis Baker That adventure sounds spectacular wish we could do that one.
Martin James Woods It was exciting to see mother with her calf.
Martin James Woods Dennis it is a lot better with no helicopter doors. It allows you to see the scenery better.
DENNIS BAKER Having done that no doors would enhance the adventure.
