Well, we made it in time! And no we didn't get to choose which van we got to drive!
It was down to the wire at times and we drove over 850km on our penultimate day.
We saw so much, including the jumping crocs cruise, Litchfield national park, the Devils Marbles, Kings Canyon, Uluru, a whole town underground and a few more bits.

I don't want to spoil anything as I'm sure I don't remember as much as we've put on the blog.
We've been in Adelaide for a few days now. I wasn't expecting much but it's a pretty city, though there is nothing to do!
We're staying in a brilliant hostel though. On our first night there was a free BBQ tea and then Ben won us 6 beers by winning at killer pool.
We haven't done anything apart from plan again. We made the tough decision of missing out on going to Tasmania due to time and money but we'll do it next time. We've booked our bus to Melbourne for Sunday morning, which takes about 12 hours. We had lots of trouble finding somewhere to stay because it's the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday (bigger than the Grand National-they even make it a public holiday!) We've also booked a flight from Cairns to Brisbane (we leave Oz via Brisbane but our last destination will be Cairns) so we have been very organised/stressed.
In other news Jetstar, the worst airline ever, have found Ben's bag. They actually found it about 12 days ago but couldn't be bothered to ring us so it's been sat in Darwin whilst we were still there. They've now flown it to Adelaide and can't seem to sort out sending it to the hostel! They're jokers. They've offered to refund Ben 'the cost of toiletries such as a toothbrush'. Isn't that nice?! I think he's bought a little more than a toothbrush whilst he's been without anything for the last 19 days!!!! Argh!!!!
It's Ben's birthday on Monday so hopefully we'll be doing something nice:)
